It is a well known fact that ancient civilizations seemed to be rather intelligent. In some cases more intelligent than civilization today. Some go as far as saying they had unknown advanced technologies. Examples of this would be the construction of the pyramids in ancient Egypt or the '2012' calendar of the Mayan society.
Many astronomers, astrologers, and numerous different scientists have been coming up with many different theories. Many of which society brushes off as science fiction or utter insanity and laughs them off the stage. But in reality how farfetched are these theories. There have been many shows and movies that at one point in history was science fiction and today are science fact. For instance, back a few hundred years a man played with model airplanes made of wood and said someday they will exist. Everyone called him insane. Today travel via airplane is a rather common thing to do.
So how is it that these ancient societies seemed to know what would be going on today? How is it that they seem to have had technology nowhere near modern capabilities? The answer may surprise you. In fact, the answer should be staring everyone in the face.
These ancient societies simply did what todays society doesnt. They lived their lives with one key aspect that modern society seemed to have forgotten. They lived their lives through God. Everyday of the year, every minute of their lives, was done through God. They were spiritually connected to God, the planet, and the universe. Having this spiritual connection enabled them to tap into the wisdom all of us contain, Gods wisdom. Much of their lives consisted of prayers before everything they did. After accomplishing a task they prayed in thanks. They had a very close spiritual relationship with God.
If there is anything todays society can learn from the ancient world, it would be that we need to have a spiritual relationship with God. Then, and only then, will we be able to understand how these ancient societies accomplished what they did. Then, and only then, will we be able to accomplish anything. Jesus said Himself, nothing is impossible as long as you have faith. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains, so imagine what could be accomplished in total unchallenged faith in God. If everyone had faith the size of a mustard seed, imagine what could be done if we all came together collectively.
Society today is as messed up as it is for one simple reason. That reason is, as a whole, we have become out of touch with God. As a whole, we asked Him to leave us alone and He has done just that. If you really truly want society to turn for the better, these problems of today to disappear, the answer is simple. Turn back to God. Jesus is standing with open arms waiting for His people to return. First you must turn to Jesus. Allow His Spirit to fill you. Then go out and help your family and friends come to Jesus. Likewise, have them do the same. If everyone goes back to Jesus, accepts Jesus in their lives, we can truly have a peaceful society.
I dont mean go to church on sunday. A relationship with God isnt a 3 hour occasion once a week. Church-goers are wannabe's. They are nothing more than heretics living a double life. Each and everyone of us is the church. Our bodies are the temple. The universe is His house. A church building should not be considered the confines of His house. He can see you, hear you inside and outside the four walls of a church building. What I mean is to have a relationship with Him. Bring God into every aspect of your life. Having financial problems? Ask Him for help. Sitting down to a meal? Thank Him for providing you. Going to bed? Thank Him for the day you had and ask Him to enable you to wake up to another day. Stuck in traffic? Ask Him to reveal a back way to get where your going.
Do you see what Im trying to say? Do you get my point? The more you exclude God from your life, the further you grow from Him. You stunt your spiritual growth. The idea here is to continue growing spiritually, to continue growing closer to God. God will only go where He is wanted and accepted. Show Him you need His help, you want Him in your life, and He will be.
There isnt one thing that is impossible through God. With God all things are possible. Allow God to help you, ask for His guidance. That is the one lesson, the most important lesson, I feel needs to be learned from the ancient world. The ancient world incorporated God into everything they did, all aspects of their lives, and look at what they accomplished. If you as an individual or society as a whole did just that, what do you think we would be able to accomplish? Limited technology accomplished the Great Pyramids. Limited astronomy and astrology accomplished the Mayan calendar as well as other astounding predictions. Imagine what we could do if we just allow God back into our lives. The possibilities are limitless.
